The Faculty of Economic Informatics provides teaching of a wide range of economic and informatic specialities and fields of activity.

The aim of teaching is to provide theoretical knowledge and practical skills of designing, organizing, exploiting, maintaining and developing automated information systems in industrial, financial and credit spheres basing on the latest computer technologies, telecommunication systems, software. The Faculty trains Specialists in Economic Cybernetics capable to resolve managerial problems using mathematical tools and computer-aided economic-mathematical modeling.

Economic Statistics as well as Statistic Methodology of Research are connected with the practice of statistic bodies of various levels. The Department of Statistics of Kharkiv oblast’ set up a branch of the Statistics Chair where systematic research is carried out concerning transition of business structures of Kharkiv oblast’ to international standards.

There are 27 study laboratories – computer classes equipped with the latest information technology, working at the Faculty, their number keeps growing.

The Specialist in Applied Statistics can do the job of economist-analyst or statistician relevant to the practice of state institutions and large economic entities.

The Core Subjects are: General Theory of Statistics; Industrial Statistics; Information Systems and Technologies in Statistics; Banking and Finance Statistics; Special Programme Envelopes and Packages; Finance Market; Insurance; Theory of Organizational Systems and Operations Research.

The Specialist in Information Management Systems and Technologies can do the job of IS designer in economy; analyst of economic information processing and developing the systems of database management; system administrator.

The Core Subjects are: Economy and Organization of IS; Programming and Operational Systems; Economy and Organization of Production; Technology of Programming and Developing Programme Products; Managerial Communications in IS; Data Models and Structures; Computer Architecture.

The Specialist in Economic Cybernetics can do the job of economist-analyst in operation research; economist; consultant in economic issues; researcher; can take relevant managerial positions in economy, commerce and business.

The Core Subjects are: Economic Cybernetics; Economic Modeling; Operation Research Techniques; Models of Qualitative Analysis of Economic Dynamics; Corporate IS; Strategic Management of Economic Systems; Methods of Multidimensional Statistic Analysis; Simulation Modeling; Programme Envelopes and Packages.

The Specialist in Computerized Ecological and Economic Monitoring can work in the departments of computerization as well as in ecological expert division of the Ministry of Ecology, National Ecological Inspection, state departments of ecology and natural resources, departments of ecology at enterprises and organizations, all dealing with computerized ecological and economic moninoting.

The Core Subjects are: Modeling Economic, Ecological and Social Processes; Methods of Simulation and Optimization in Ecology; Ecological and Economic Safety; The System of State Environment Monitoring; Ecological Management and Audit; Human Ecology; Economy of Natural Resources Application; Industrial Ecology and Technology of Basic Production.

The Specialist in Computerized Technologies and Systems in Publishing and Poligraphy can do the job of chief executive officer of publishing and polygraphic houses (as well as technical or commercial manager, CEO of an advertizing agency; head of the advertising department at a big enterprise, designer or Web-disigner, economist or technologist at a publishing-polygraphic enterprise.

The Core Subjects are: Basics of Polygraphy; Publishing and Technical Editing; Technologies of Polygraphic Production; Economy of Publishing and Polygraphic Enterprises; Technology of Computer Design; Technologies of Composition and Design; Technologies of Designing and Producing Multimedia Publication; Production IS of Polygraphic Enterprise.

The Specialist in Technologies of Electronic Multimedia Publication can do the job of chief executive officer, technical or commercial manager, CEO of an advertising agency; head of the advertising department of large enterprises; designer or Web-designer; economist or technologist of publishing and polygraphic production.
